Threo brings danceable folk with a modern twist: powerful melodies by Paul James on saxophone and bagpipes, groovy harmonies and accompaniment by Hilke Bauweraerts on diatonic accordion, and driving rhythms by Thomas Hoste on electro-acoustic alto hurdy-gurdy and samples, also teaching the session hurdy-gurdy on the stage. Their music varies from atmospheric architectural sketches to irresistible dance beats, with always enough room for spontaneous improvisations.
